Keystone Montessori’s History
Keystone Montessori School was established in February 1994 as the result of the deep commitment of Victoria Shea, who in partnership with other Montessori parents and teachers in the Oak Park & River Forest area, wished to provide an authentic Montessori education for children.
Keystone is incorporated as a not-for-profit parent teacher initiative and meets the standards established by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), the oldest and most respected Montessori organization in the world. The school is registered with the Illinois State Board of Education and is in the recognition process. Keystone serves children of varied social, racial, religious and cultural backgrounds and does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion or creed.
“We often forget that imagination is a force for the discovery of truth.” -Dr Maria Montessori
